Blogmas Day 13-What We Do to Prevent Illness

I am going to share a few things we do to prevent illness- and honestly the main thing we do is probably not the best on us mentally, but after Nova being so sick in 2024 Spring, we are pretty traumatized. We really don’t leave the house with the kids more than once a week. I know, this is very hard, but if we have an appointment, that’s it for the week. I know once we get therapies kicking back in in January this will change, but for now this is working well. Another thing we do is we choose a less busy place when it’s an option. We go to a very small local library when we want to do something fun, or if we are taking them to the store we choose Target over Walmart.

We use a multivitamin with immunity support- the specific one we use is Mary Ruth’s Kid’s Morning Multivitamin with Lutein, but we have used different things throughout the years. We have tried elderberry, and I don’t feel like it works as well.

This is the hard one- if anyone has even had allergies we wait 24 hours to bring the girls over, or a more serious illness we wait a few days symptom and fever free.

Realistically, we isolate the girls ALOT. They are not around nearly as many kids as most children their age. I know this isn’t possible for everyone, and I also know they probably need a little bit more time with peers. However, right now, this is what is working for us.
