Hi, I’m Meemaw! Trying my very best to see the world through these lil ones’ eyes. I was always unsure of God’s purpose for me. When I met Nova, I started to understand and the same with Denver. I tell this story, because it is real and raw and sometimes, we have to be vulnerable and say things to help others. Nova was having a really long seizure, EMT could not get her stable. As we followed the ambulance, I prayed, “God, take me not her;” But he saved her and me. I didn’t understand. I decided I was going to try to live as long as I could, so I could be there for our grand-daughters and our daughter. We switched our diet, thank you to my brother, and we started making slow changes to improve our quality of life. My purpose: Nova and Denver. Everything now is for them. Their future, their health, their quality of life. Our family is so strong, so fierce and filled with unconditional love and I praise HIM for showing me the way. The way to be strong, even though seeing a seizure is one of the scariest things to see. The way to read about Dravet Syndrome, even though frankly it scares the shit out of me. The way to figure out how to give these girls the best life they can have. Not with material things, with love, with therapy, with medicine, with science and above all with HIM!
