Hey friends, family and fellow fighters! Today I just wanted to share some products that have made our medical daily lives easier. None of these are “essential” to caring for someone with Dravet Syndrome, but they sure do make it easier!
This is our favorite portable pulse ox- this is probably the one necessity in this list. Having this gives me a lot more peace of mind traveling even somewhere as small as the store. We now officially have medical grade pulse oxs at home, but having this one as well makes life a lot easier. This one is very accurate in comparison to our medical grade ones, the fingertip piece is perfect for small little hands, and it has a very quick read. https://a.co/d/0dn37Kbb
This one may sound weird if you’re not a medical parent, but meds can mess up dental hygiene so easily. From tooth decay to stinky breath, meds are a double-edged sword. A few months ago, we thought Nova had a cavity (she did not) but we were looking for more natural ways to take care of it. Because having a non-communicative kiddo at the dentist where they don’t let parents back is a personal “HELL NO” from me. I discovered this dental spray, and we have already been through one bottle. It has seemed to make a big difference in stinky breath which makes me feel like it’s making a difference in dental health and protecting their teeth. https://a.co/d/05iB8P0W
I have posted many a time before about my kiddos hating sleep (hahahaha laughing through the dark circles and sleep deprivation). We don’t use it unless it’s been a rough few nights in a row, but this melatonin is a great price and works very quickly. https://a.co/d/04aiaSXk
Any asthmatics? Nova’s asthma terrifies me and she’s too little for a traditional inhaler. I didn’t think her asthma was a big deal until she had her first asthma attack. Insurance covered a nebulizer, but it is a wall plug in and in the middle of Target I don’t think that would be too convenient. We purchased a portable nebulizer, I can’t find the exact listing, but this one looks identical. https://a.co/d/00QJmsTU This works very well and can also be used during typical respiratory illness.
I will make my next post on some learning toys that I believe have helped the girls’ development.
Love you all, Keep Fighting
