My number one favorite childhood Christmas tradition was every Christmas Eve my brother, sister and I would have a sleepover in the same room and watch Christmas movies together. I remember many Christmases where we barely slept because we were up late giggling and excited for what Santa would bring. It was so fun getting time together.
Every Christmas Eve night we would go see my Grandma JJ and my dad’s side of the family. I loved having a little Christmas “pre-game” and my Grandma JJ could be a tree decorator for a magazine. Always the cutest, trendy, fun sparkly things and I just loved it.
Christmas morning, we would get our parents up wayyyyy too early (Lord help me when that day comes with the girls lol) and they would get their coffee, and we would get to open our gifts from Santa. Then we would go to my Grandma and Grandpa Robinson’s house and spend Christmas with my mom’s side. It was so fun being around all my cousins and aunts and uncles. It was such a full house and so fun to get quality time together. My grandparents always put an orange in our stocking.
My grandpa was the closest thing to Santa on this Earth. He would ring the bell for the Salvation Army every year dressed up. He always made Christmas a little “extra special” by having special gifts delivered to his house for all of us from Santa. Usually, it was sweet little things he had thrifted for us, like holiday barbies, DVDs or pinup calendars for the boys haha. He would dress up too-it was very special. And his village- SO COOL! I love that my dad has carried that tradition on.
