United States Air Force Technical Sargeant Joseph Deslauriers is on his third tour of Afghanistan when he is severely injured – losing both legs and left arm to a roadside bomb.
During his 14 years of service as part of the USAF EOD Division (Explosive Ordinance Disposal), Joe was deployed to Iraq, Italy, Kuwait, Africa, and Kyrgyzstan. He has been a member of Special Forces since 2002, has served local law enforcement, worked secret service detail, and disarmed bombs overseas.
February 26, 2012Team Warrior Princesses Tracy Goldsmith (Joe's sister-in-law) and Courtney Etling (Tracy's Best Friend) will run 13.1 miles in Disney's Princess Half Marathon to raise money for Joe and his family. The Half Marathon celebrates commitment, perseverance, determination and strength – the same characteristics heroes like TSgt Deslauriers display everyday.
